Tom Maben,classic car restorer

Car number 20 in the Paris to Peking road race, Wilhelmus Van Gemert / Johan De Swart - 1934 Singer Le Mans

Toms first restoration,a Triumph TR3 at hand over.I have asked tom for a picture of the 1934 Singer Le Mans (2 liter six) he has restored, this will be placed on this blog when we have it.
The photo below is by R McBride, the camera being a Canon FT,click on the picture to view full size.

Thats Dave in the center with the grey hair and a beer,Tom junior and senior are to the right of the picture.

I saw Tom being towed up Suikerbossie Hill this morning, his son, also Tom was using a SWB Landrover to pull a freshly restored 1934 Singer Le Mans to its next destination,in a bright shade of pale blue, the car looked good in the early morning light,Tom looked good too! This Singer is a special one, only three ever made and just this one left I believe, the car raced at Le Mans,France in 1937,Tom and Tom are experts in bringing such peices of motoring history back to life.I had a hand in selling Toms first car restortaion,a bright red Triumph TR3,I made the introduction to Tom and its new buyer Dave. The picture shows the car being handed over to Dave and his wife.
