Hillman Imp timing chain test on a 998cc motor build

Without some fancy test gear to measure stretch and twist on a used Timing Chain,a fair test is to lay a good used one next to a known new one and see what deflection there is,not a perfect test but it will be better than none.

This pair of timing chains look about the same, the one closest to the camera will ( i think) be the new one but you can get the idea, left click for a better sized view. The engine block is a newly built 998cc unit, probably the only one in Africa,we can build to order no problems.
